How Coaches and Clients Can Consent to Receiving SMS Notifications

Before clients can receive SMS appointment reminders in CoachVantage, they must provide consent through their Client Portal. This article explains how clients can opt in to receive SMS notifications and what steps coaches need to take to ensure consent is properly recorded.

Overview

In CoachVantage, clients must give consent before receiving SMS appointment reminders or updates. This ensures compliance with privacy and communication regulations and helps prevent unwanted messages.

When a coach adds a phone number to an individual contact record, that contact will not automatically receive SMS messages. They must first provide consent through their Client Portal.

For Coaches

Before your client can consent to receive SMS notifications:

  • Ensure the client has been sent a Client Portal Invite (refer to this article for more information on this topic).
  • Confirm the Client Portal Status shows as Active on your Contact's List.
  • Verify the client’s mobile number is entered correctly in their Individual Contact Record.

For Clients

Once a client has an Active Client Portal, they can follow these steps:

  1. Sign into the Client Portal.
  2. Click on their name in the top right-hand corner.
  3. Select My Profile.

4.  Ensure their Mobile Number is entered correctly. Or enter their mobile number if it's not already been entered.

5. Check the box I agree to receive appointment SMS (text) notifications from the meeting host.

Success! Your client has consented to receiving SMS notifications. 🎉
